Finch Elkyam

Finch is one of two main characters in GWB. She's quiet, serious, and curious. She enjoys learning new things and puzzling out rules or systems. Her main caregiver is her aunt Judith, following a series of incidents with her parents. While she doesn't trust people easily, she strives to be respectful and polite, at least on the surface. Outside of school, she enjoys reading (fiction, classics, and poetry,) knitting, hiking, and learning the violin. She's tortured and sad and doomed.

School AU:
In this AU, Finch is a freshman at Saint Augustine's. She has been placed in the care of her aunt Judith, a teacher at the school, due to running away from her parents several times. She finds herself flourishing at the school until she is taken by the Great Angel Augustine and sent to The Torture Dimension. Most girls don't return. She does, pulled from the maw by Judith's sacrifice and the help of Maggie Marten. But Finch had unfinished business on the other side, and she hadn't been the same since she left.
She struggles with morality after the things she has done. She finds that being in The Torture Dimension is easier for her than most people because it's just another set of norms to follow, just as senseless as her world back home. Also, she realizes she's a girl in the torture dimension.
